Clavia Nord Piano and Chamberlin soundbanks

Stage piano and retro soundbank announced

Clavia, the manufacturers of the popular Nord Lead keyboard, have announced a group of new products and sound banks. The new Nord Piano is an 88-key instrument with weighted hammer action, which stores its sound banks in 512MB of flash memory. <strong>The Clavia Nord Piano: </strong>The Clavia Nord Piano, an 88-key instrument with weighted hammer action.It comes complete with several acoustic and electric pianos and harpsichords, and sound banks are managed using Nord’s Sound Manager application, which runs on both OS X and Windows. Additional sound banks are free to download from the www.nordkeyboards.com site, and include a new selection of six upright and grand pianos, which will be added to throughout the year.

The piano features built‑in effects including phaser, flanger and chorus, as well as an amp simulator with three speaker models and overdrive. The Piano Pedal accessory has also been released to accompany the new piano, giving the instrument the functionality of all three pedals present on a grand: sustain, sustenuto and soft.

Clavia have also acquired a license to use sounds from the Chamberlin library in their sound banks. The Chamberlin was the first commercially available tape-replay instrument, utilising a rack of tapes to play back recordings of various instruments. The Nord Chamberlin library contains 15 different sounds at 44.1kHz 24-bit, is available for free, and is compatible with all keyboards that use the Nord Sample Library format.
